How to sell digital products online video tutorial

How to sell books & reports online

I launched my book about three years ago. It was self published and my major channel to sell the book was through Amazon. Three years later, I have come to realise that Amazon isn’t the self service machinery that it has proclaimed to be.

Rather, it is difficult to navigate, and if you don’t run a major promotion on launch and basically give away your book for free, you run major risk of being suffocated by the clutter of online books with similar tiles being sold through the platform.

I finally found that the work I had to put in to sell through Amazon was outweighing the gains i got from the platform.

But what should I do? Where should I go?

I was watching a tutorial from Ryan Nangle on YouTube and saw him selling his transitions through this service called Sellfy. I bought a few of them from him and didn’t think twice about it.

As my disappointment with Amazon grew, I started to look for alternatives to sell my products online. I recalled my experienced with buying things from Ryan, and tried to sign up on Sellfy.

It took me about 15 minutes to setup my full store and another 10 minutes to connect to both PayPal and Stripe which enabled me to sell both subscription products AND receive payments from credit cards.

This was amazing as I had full control of the full sales process.

So how should I reach my customer base for my digital products

I started to up my game on YouTube. Created more videos than before and considered the keyword targeting more than ever before. My channel started growing and I started adding links to my store in the description. At the same time this website that you are currently reading on started gaining traction in Google because of the implementation between WordPress, YouTube-articles, category pages and cross linking whilst others were recommending my content at a higher degree.

YouTube became the center of my sales activation for the book and I went from selling a book per month to selling a few per week. Currently I sell about a book a day.

It doesn’t bring in a lot of money but it is showing promise and as I don’t have to put any focused sales initiative or work into it but can focus on creating videos and projects that I like, the sales of books becomes a cherry on the top.

Sell your digital products anywhere

When you sign up and upload your products you will be able to embed them anywhere or use product links to sell them from any social content you produce. You can embed it in social profiles such as your Twitter account profile or in your YouTube-description. You can add it as your profile link on Instagram or simply use it as post on Facebook.

They also have a button you can embed anywhere. Such as the one just below or in the sidebar to the right in this blog.

This enables you to not just sell in one place like Amazon, but to sell all over the place, wherever you are active, close to the customer, followers and subscribers you have built relationships with over time.

If you want your own Sellfy store you can sign up through here. (Affiliate link. If you buy you support my work.)
